If you’re someone who flies frequently, you’ve probably heard of and looked into airline credit cards. There are more than 50 airlines currently based in the United States, and many of them have branded credit cards.
However, if you’re a United loyalist or you happen to fly United Airlines frequently, you might find The New United Quest℠ Card to be a very useful addition to your wallet.
Between the generous introductory offer and the plethora of benefits that the card offers for United MileagePlus members, The New United Quest℠ Card delivers value that will undoubtedly elevate your experience as a United customer.
An Impressive Introductory Offer
The New United Quest℠ Card currently offers a bonus of 100,000 United MileagePlus miles, plus 3,000 Premier qualifying points (PQP) after spending $4,000 on purchases within the first 3 months from account opening.
This offer is marketed by Chase as being the card’s best offer ever, making it an even more enticing and strategic decision to get the card to benefit from this offer, on top of the benefits the card already offers.
Best Offer Ever: Earn 100,000 bonus miles and 3,000 Premier qualifying points after you spend $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months your account is open.
100,000 United MileagePlus miles can take you far, especially when you are flexible with your travel. If you’re flexible enough to take advantage of the T-14 method, which is the method where you book business/first class flights in the last two weeks before departure, you could possibly score a long-haul flight in United Polaris, which is United’s premium business class travel experience.

As seen in this example above, you can book a one-way flight from Los Angeles (LAX) to Sydney, Australia (SYD) in United Polaris class for 100k United miles and $34.50 in fees. This is an extremely powerful redemption, considering the fact that it takes about 15 hours to fly from Los Angeles to Sydney. Many long-haul flights in Polaris can cost double or even triple the number of miles. In my opinion, this is the best way to get the most out of your 100,000 bonus miles, so do not hesitate to book a seat like this once you see it!
On top of the 100,000 bonus miles offer, you can earn an additional 10,000 bonus miles when you add an authorized user to your account within the first 3 months from account opening. The New United Quest℠ Card doesn’t charge an authorized user fee, so you can essentially earn these 10,000 bonus miles for free!
Combined with the introductory offer of 100,000 bonus miles, you can easily earn up to 110,000 miles when opening this card, making it a truly valuable offer to take advantage of.
Earning Even More Bonus Miles and PQP
The New United Quest℠ Card earns bonus miles across a variety of spending categories, making it even easier for cardholders to accrue United MileagePlus miles that they can redeem towards flights. Here’s how the earning rate breaks down:
- 8x total miles on United flights - 5x miles on fare from United as a MileagePlus member, plus 3x miles on entire United purchase with the United Quest Card. Premier® members earn even more.
- 5x miles on hotel stays when you prepay directly through Renowned Hotels and Resorts for United® Cardmembers.
- 3x miles on all other eligible United purchases
- 2x miles on all other travel including airfare, trains, local transit, cruise lines, hotels, car rentals, taxicabs, resorts, ride share services and tolls.
- 2x miles on dining including eligible delivery services
- 2x miles on select streaming services
- 1x mile on all other purchases
You can also accrue Premier qualifying points (PQP), making it easier for you to earn Premier status with United. You can earn 1 Premier® qualifying point (PQP) for every $20 spent on purchases with your QuestSM Card, up to 18,000 PQP per year.
United MileagePlus® Premier® Status
On top of the 100,000 bonus miles that are part of the introductory offer, you can also earn 3,000 Premier qualifying points (PQP) after hitting the required spend. Premier qualifying points allow you to attain Premier status with United MileagePlus, unlocking even more benefits depending on your status.
You can unlock United MileagePlus status tiers by accruing a combination of Premier qualifying flights (PQF) and Premier qualifying points (PQP), or by just accruing PQP only.
Premier Silver | Premier Gold | Premier Platinum | Premier 1K® | |
---|---|---|---|---|
PQF + PQP | 15 PQF + 5,000 PQP | 30 PQF + 10,000 PQP | 45 PQF + 15,000 PQP | 60 PQF + 22,000 PQP |
PQP only | 6,000 PQP | 12,000 PQP | 18,000 PQP | 28,000 PQP |
Here are the benefits that you get with each status tier:
Premier Status Benefits
Additional Benefits
The New United Quest℠ Card is a very solid travel rewards credit card, offering a slew of benefits to maximize the value of the credit card for frequent travelers. These benefits include, but are not limited to:
- 10,000 mile anniversary award flight discount: Most United award flight redemptions cost more than 10,000 miles, so most folks can maximize the value of this discount easily
- Up to 2 Free Checked Bags: While I don’t always fly with a checked bag, I can imagine having this benefit could be very useful when needed
- Priority Boarding: I don’t have United status, so this is a nice benefit to have since I can board earlier
- 25% back on food, beverage and Wi-Fi purchases on board United flights and United Club premium drink purchases: This might not be useful for me, but could be helpful for folks who are purchasing things on their flights
- 1,000 Card Bonus Premier Qualifying Points (PQP): This gives the primary cardmember 1,000 PQPs (starting February 1, 2026)
On top of these benefits, cardholders can unlock even more exclusive benefits after hitting certain spend requirements. These include:
- Earn another 10,000-mile award flight discount: After spending $20k with your Quest in a calendar year, you can get another 10k miles award flight discount. However, you can only earn an additional one per calendar year.
- Earn 2 global Economy Plus® seat upgrades: After making $40k in purchases in a calendar year, you can get 2 Economy Plus seat upgrades. This, unfortunately, is not a great deal—I’ll pass on this one
Bonus Credits
The New United Quest℠ Card offers multiple credits that cardholders can apply towards their travel or other lifestyle needs. These credits include:
- $200 Annual United Travel Credit: You will receive $200 travel credit in your United MileagePlus account annually. I find this credit very useful, as I could use the credit to cover a flight across the country, or multiple shorter flights between cities I need to go to.
- Global Entry or TSA PreCheck® or NEXUS Application Fee Statement Credit: You will receive one statement credit every four years (up to $120) for Global Entry, TSA PreCheck® or NEXUS. This can be very useful in streamlining your travel experience and making it faster.
- $150 Renowned Hotels and Resorts Statement Credit: I’m not sure if I’ll find any use for this credit, as Renowned Hotels and Resorts are mostly luxury hotels that can cost hundreds or thousands of dollars a night. I’d rather use my credit card points to stay at other hotels such as Hyatt and Marriott.
- $100 Rideshare Statement Credit: Earn up to $8 back as a statement credit each month from January to November and up to $12 back as a statement credit in December. I’ll most likely be able to find use from this credit, as I live in the city without a car, and I often need to take rideshare services.
- Up to $80 Avis or Budget Travel Credit: Earn up to $40 in United TravelBank cash on your first eligible Avis or Budget purchase and up to $40 in United TravelBank cash on your second eligible Avis or Budget purchase. I don’t think I’d find use for this credit, as I’m not even old enough to rent a car yet. However, my parents need to rent a car every once in a while, and they could make use of this credit for me.
- Receive one $10 credit and one $5 credit per month in the Instacart App: I don’t think I’d find use out of this credit since I prefer to go grocery shopping in-person. I’m not sure I could effectively purchase the groceries I need online.
- $150 JSX Statement Credit: I highly doubt I’ll ever find any use for this credit. JSX is an air carrier that allows you to basically book private jets, which is most likely very expensive. I’d much rather fly commercial than paying hundreds to thousands of dollars to fly privately.
In short, I think I’ll be able to find use out of the card, even with the $350 annual fee. I know that I’ll be able to use the $200 annual United travel credit and the $100 rideshare credit every year. This effectively brings my net annual cost for the card down the $50. In my opinion, $50 is 100% worth the benefits of the card, as I’ll be able to get up to two free checked bags on every United flight I take, as well as priority boarding.
